Megan Justice awarded T32 training grant!

Megan Justice was selected for the Curriculum in Genetics and Molecular Biology T32 training grant.  This grant is from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences and will fund Megan’s graduate work for one year.  Congratulations Megan on receiving this competitive award!

Congratulations to Jill Dowen on being selected as a Kimmel Scholar!

The Sidney Kimmel Foundation for Cancer Research has selected the 2016 recipients for the Kimmel Scholars Program. Fifteen of the nation’s most creative and innovative young investigators will receive 2-year grants totaling $200,000.  The program emboldens young scientists at the start of their careers to take imaginative approaches to fighting cancer.

Dowen paper referenced in Nature Review Genetics

The Jill Dowen et al. paper Control of cell identity genes occurs in insulated neighborhoods in mammalian chromosomes, originally published in Cell, was referenced in a recent Nature Review Genetics piece showcasing “…two studies [that] provide new insights into the factors shaping higher-order chromatin structures from yeast to mammals and the pivotal role of genome organization in regulating gene expression.”
